THE NAGASAKI PRINT SERIES

1. I am Nagasaki (2002)
2. Nagasaki II (2004)
3. Ki (2007)
4. O (2007)
5. Passion (2008)

Five print series related to the bombing of Nagasaki on Thursday 9 August 1945.
Each series consists of ten plates, in various intaglio and relief printing techniques.
Format of every plate (h x w) is 50 x 32,5 cm.
All plates printed in an edition of ten by the artist.
Each series is kept in a separate box.

The prints reflect my impressions of the bombing of Nagasaki. I visited places related to the second A-bomb and learned how Nagasaki people deal with their past. I realised the only way I - as a printmaker - could react on this was by making prints.
Despite what happened, and despite the various causes and reasons why it happened, this is not a condemnation, nobody is accused.
