The theme of the fourth Nagasaki series is "Loss of Innocence". It tells about women and children: they survived, their children were born again and grew up with their own vices and virtues. This series draws a parallel with the attack on the World Trade Centre in New York. When staying here I found elements repeated I had experienced in Nagasaki: the remains, the ladder, the cleansing rain, the eyes. American boneblack, carbonblack and metal compounds are used for the ink. People become aware and finally, when the wheel has turned, a new cycle starts. S. said to me: "Life is strong."
